JERUSALEM -- One person was killed and five others were injured in a shooting in central Israel on Sunday before the suspected attacker was shot, in what Israeli security services described as a "terror attack."
The shooting occurred at three locations in the Kochav Ya'ir area of central Israel, near the border with the West Bank, according to reports.
The military said in a statement that forces were dispatched to nearby areas and "neutralized" a militant at the scene. The suspect's condition was not immediately clear.
Troops are conducting extensive searches for possible additional attackers, the military said.
