Alleged conditions in Fort iKapa.
The SA National Defence Union (SANDU) has defended its soldiers' claims that conditions at Fort iKapa, where 146 soldiers were housed for Operation Prosper, were inhumane.
They said the soldiers have been transferred to another facility - Air Force Base Ysterplaat, with repairs at Fort iKapa expected to take place.
This follows the Joint Standing Committee on Defence's stance that the site was adequate.
Last week, Phiroane Phala, co-chairperson of the standing committee, together with two members, visited the Fort iKapa Military Base in Acacia Park, and said they found living conditions at the base to be adequate.
