Nigeria is targeting €59 million in EU support through the West Africa Sustainable Ocean Programme to tackle illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing in 2026.
Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola disclosed this during a meeting with the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Gautier Mignot, during which both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation on maritime security and sustainable ocean governance.
