MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and expanding opportunities for their reintegration upon returning home.
In a message marking the 31st Migrant Workers Day, Marcos said the government remains steadfast in advancing measures to safeguard migrant workers and their families.
“As your government, we reaffirm our commitment to defend your rights, protect your welfare, and expand support for you and your families,” the president said.
He added that the government, through the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), continues to ensure that OFWs have access to assistance whenever needed.
