As part of ‘Operation P-Hunt’, a Statewide initiative to track down individuals searching for and sharing child pornography online, the Kollam City Police conducted simultaneous raids at nine locations across various station limits in the district on Sunday. The operation covered areas under the jurisdiction of Kollam East, Eravipuram, Shaktikulangara, Chavara, Chathannur, and Parippally police stations. Following the inspections, authorities registered four cases, confiscated four mobile phones, and submitted a report under the Juvenile Justice Act at one of the locations.The highest number of actions took place within the Eravipuram police station limits, where officers conducted four raids, resulting in three registered cases and the seizure of three mobile phones. Meanwhile, an inspection within the Chathannur police station limits led to the registration of one case and the recovery of one mobile phone. Although raids were carried out in the Kollam East, Shaktikulangara, and Parippally station limits, no incriminating mobile devices were found at those specific sites. The seized mobile phones will be forwarded to the forensic science laboratory for detailed scientific examination through the court.The coordinated raids were executed by District Crime Records Bureau (DCRB) Assistant Commissioner of Police Ananthalal and City Cyber Police Station Inspector Shameer M.K., with active participation from officials of the Cyber Police Station and the City Cyber Cell.
