The South Central Railway (SCR) Railway Protection Force’s (RPF) Pink Patrol Team, supported by drone surveillance, apprehended three suspected theft offenders in two separate operations at Kacheguda and Vidyanagar railway stations on Sunday.In the first case, acting on a complaint of mobile phone theft at Kacheguda Railway Station, the team carried out an extensive analysis of CCTV footage. Through behavioural assessment of individuals moving within the station premises, suspicious persons were identified.Based on intelligence gathered from surveillance, the team conducted targeted decoy operations, leading to the identification and apprehension of two suspects. During sustained questioning, the accused admitted to their involvement in multiple mobile phone thefts on railway premises. They were later handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) for further legal action.In a separate operation at Vidyanagar Railway Station, the Pink Patrol Team apprehended a suspicious individual during routine checks. The person was found in possession of a mobile phone valued at approximately ₹12,000. As he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for its possession, he was detained and handed over to the GRP along with the recovered device for further investigation.All three apprehended individuals were verified through the Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS), and further inquiries are underway. Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Hyderabad Division, Debashmita C. Banerjee, stated in a press release that railway stations are under constant technological surveillance, and any attempts to target passengers will be swiftly detected and dealt with.
