But now, much to the delight of her fans, she has confirmed she’ll be performing an “intimate gig” in London in just a few weeks’ time.‌The concert will take place in the UK capital on the 5 July, and tickets will be free to gig-goers. In order to win entry, fans can enter a ballot to receive the very limited complimentary tickets.‌Duffy confirmed through her Instagram stories that there is no option available to purchase tickets for the gig.‌Speaking to her fans via social media, she wrote: “I’m doing a secret intimate gig in London on 5th July next month, and I would love nothing more than for some of you to attend.“Please visit the link below and leave your details if you want to come. It’s only small capacity so we can only select a few, but really looking forward to it, I will sing some new songs.”The singer then signed off the post, writing: “All my love, Duffy x.” This will be the first time fans have heard new music from Duffy in 16 years.‌In her announcement last month that she would be returning to music, she shared a picture of herself in the studio captioned: “If only I could find the right words to explain how much I’ve missed you all. Working on coming back to you.”After her debut album, Rockferry, was released to critical acclaim in 2008, fans were baffled when Duffy seemed to have dropped off the face of the Earth.‌However, in 2020 she opened up on the harrowing reason, revealing she had been drugged and raped in a horrific ordeal.Duffy posted about the experience in detail on her website, where she bravely spoke out about feeling suicidal after her rape ordeal that lasted for four weeks.At the time, she wrote: “It was my birthday, I was drugged at a restaurant, I was drugged then for four weeks and travelled to a foreign country.‌“I can’t remember getting on the plane and came round in the back of a travelling vehicle. I was put into a hotel room and the perpetrator returned and raped me.”She explained how she then returned home with the perpetrator as the ordeal went on for four horrific weeks, during which she was even drugged inside her own home.Shortly after the ordeal, she understandably left the spotlight presumably to recover and heal from the horrifying experience.Article continues belowLike this story?
