The World Health Organisation and its associated institutions have been continuously working towards quality mental healthcare services, said Central Council for Research and Homeopathy (New Delhi) Deputy Director General Sunil S. Ramteke here on Saturday.Speaking at a seminar on ‘Homeopathy and mental health’ organised by M.S. Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation, he said that in a society, where there was a rapid development, healthcare was gaining prominence.Various experts were involved in research from multiple disciplines to give a quality treatment.He expressed happiness that the CCRH had joined hands with the Chellamuthu Trust in promoting a holistic approach for alcohol and drug substance abuse-related mental illnesses and stated that the partnership would create a meaningful impact on society.Pain Clinic specialist and Anaesthesiologist Baskaran Jegadish spoke about the importance of integrating homoeopathy with modern medical practices for a comprehensive patient care.Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation founder C. Ramasubramanian, a renowned psychiatrist, highlighted the supportive role of homoeopathy in managing mental disorders and addiction recovery.Trust Executive Director R. Rajkumari in her welcome address emphasized the importance of mental healthcare and the role of homoeopathy in promoting holistic well-being and quality care in society.Government Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital Joint Director and Principal P. Rathamani said, “There is no health without mental health” and highlighted the seminar served as an important academic platform for future professionals to understand and address mental health challenges in society.CCRH Senior Research Fellow L. Gopikrishnan explained the relevance of homoeopathy in mental healthcare, various assessment tools and the need for an integrated approach in treatment.The technical seminar sessions were then conducted by eminent speakers. The CCRH Research Officer Harleen Kaur spoke on the effectiveness of homoeopathy in supporting emotional balance and psychological well-being.Awareness pamphlets on “Homoeopathy and Mental Health” were released. Students from the Government Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital participated in the seminar.An interactive session was held and student participants were presented certificates.
