Canadian Isabella Holmgren (Lidl Trek) kept her young rider’s classification white jersey after an impressive day climbing with the top group rewarded with a second-place finish on the day.On the final climb, Vollering stepped up the pace of the front group within the final 10km, leaving only a group of four with Van der Breggen, Holmgren and Antonia Niedermaier. Unable to drop the rest of the final four, the FDJ Suez rider ceded her position at the front of the group to Van der Breggen before overtaking the maglia rosa-wearer after the final hairpin.Movistar’s Marlen Reusser recovered from being dropped by the top riders to finish sixth, while UAE Team ADQ’s Elisa Longo Borghini also fell off the back to finish eighth and now seventh overall.Sunday’s final stage will take the riders 145km around Saluzzo in northern Italy, with a toughest climb of 9km at 9.4 per cent but a downhill into the finish.Jun 6, 2026Connections: Sports EditionSpot the pattern.
