A retired Nigerian Army officer and former Director of Defence Information, Major General Rabe Abubakar (retd.), and his wife have appeared in a fresh video released by their abductors, pleading with government authorities to release suspected terrorists allegedly arrested by security agencies in exchange for their freedom.

In the video seen by SaharaReporters, the wife of the retired military officer appealed to Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, traditional rulers and local government authorities in parts of the state to intervene and secure the release of three detained individuals identified as Aminu, Sani and Nasiru, whom she said the abductors described as their children.

Speaking in Hausa, she said the captors insisted that their grievances be conveyed to government authorities and community leaders.

“We have come to present our complaint and our grievances to the government—from the state government down to the local government authorities responsible for this area,” she said.
