Damodar Raja Narasimha assured them that their concerns regarding the ongoing transfer process would be addressed and that steps would be taken towards a fair resolution. The decision comes a day after doctors belonging to the Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) across the State staged protests on June 5, alleging that the provisions of Government Order (G.O.) No. 38 were not being implemented in letter and spirit during the transfer exercise.TGGDA had demanded that transfers be carried out transparently in accordance with GO No. 38. The association also sought consideration for doctors falling under the three-year priority category and the ‘Zero Spouse’ category, in addition to those who had completed four years of service, as provided under the existing rules. Further, it urged the government to exempt elected leaders of the recognised doctors’ association from transfers, in line with the provisions of the government order.According to TGGDA leaders, the Health Minister responded positively to the issues raised by the association and assured them that the concerns would be examined. Following the Minister’s intervention, the TGGDA announced the withdrawal of its proposed protest programme.Director of Medical Education (DME) A.
