ALBAWABA - Bahrain’s military said Saturday its air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed three missiles and six drones in what authorities described as an Iranian attack on the kingdom. In an official statement, the Bahraini Defense Force said Iran continued hostile measures against the Kingdom through missile and drone attacks targeting residential areas and infrastructure. The military condemned the strikes as a violation of international humanitarian law.Bahrain’s armed forces are on high alert and fully prepared to respond to any future threats, officials said, with all military units operating at the greatest level of preparedness.Authorities also issued a public warning asking homeowners and people to stay away from any strange objects or debris that may have fallen during the attack. The public was urged to report any remains of missiles or drones to the relevant authorities immediately. Bahraini military stated specialized engineering teams have been deployed and remain ready to safely secure and dispose of any unexploded material to protect public safety. The incident comes amid rising regional tensions and follows Bahrain's recent appeals for Iran to stop attacks and respect freedom of travel in the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial conduit for world petroleum supplies. The most recent exchange underlines the persistent security risks facing Gulf governments as regional wars and military clashes show little sign of abating.
