The Nigerian-born billionaire businessman Femi Otedola recently conversed on the value of charity, uploading a flashback video from 2019 in which he described the rationale for his $14 million contribution to Save the Children UK to help needy children in Northern Nigeria.
Otedola shared the video on X and accompanied it with a statement underlining the importance of giving back to society.
“True wealth is not measured by what we keep, but by the lives we change,” he reflected, via the social media platform.
The donation, one of the most noteworthy philanthropic contributions made by a Nigerian businessman to a humanitarian cause at the time, was intended to improve the lives of children in Northern Nigeria who suffered from poverty, hunger, restricted access to school, and other socioeconomic difficulties.
In the unearthed conversation, Otedola was questioned why he decided to make such a significant investment.
