CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Physician and public health advocate Dr. Anthony “Tony” Leachon opposed the disciplinary action imposed on him by the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP), while reaffirming his commitment to ongoing court proceedings related to the Dengvaxia controversy.

Leachon issued the statement on Saturday, June 6, a copy of which was furnished to the Inquirer.

His statement came as hearings in cases involving the anti-dengue vaccine resumed before the Sandiganbayan and the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, developments he described as an important step toward accountability.

“For almost a decade, the families of children who died after receiving the Dengvaxia vaccine have carried the burden of grief while waiting for their day in court,” Leachon said.
