Jamacia has been hit by a nationwide blackout.

A power cut struck the entire island of Jamaica on Friday, the country's energy minister said, without providing a reason for the outage.

"Island-wide black out," Daryl Vaz announced in a post on X.

Vaz said that power was expected to be restored overnight, adding that "some places have already started receiving Power."

"All power stations are being restarted," he said.
