The move by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League clubs and FKF to initiate a process that will eventually see Kenya’s top club competition run by an autonomous company is welcome.
Fourteen Premier League clubs’ chairpersons and chief executive officers (CEOs), held a consultative meeting with FKF President Mohammed Hussein that led to the formation of the Transition League Management Committee. This will fast-track the process ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
It is encouraging that the committee that is under Kenya Police FC Chief Executive, Japheth Munyendo and former Gor Mahia CEO Raymond Oruo, will work within FKF’s constitutional framework and its statutes.
