Some domestic media outlets in Iran, citing the public relations office of the Islamic Republic’s Army, reported that, in continuation of what has been described as countering American “maritime harassment,” the Navy’s Qadir missiles and attack drones were fired as a “warning” toward several destroyers in the Sea of Oman.

The statement released by the Islamic Republic’s Army reads: “Following this action, the destroyers DDG-103 and DDG-87 left the Sea of Oman toward the Indian Ocean.” The Command Center of the Islamic Republic’s Army Navy also confirmed that longer-range missiles will be used if necessary.

The IRGC Navy has also announced that it has messaged ships to provide notification if they are carrying essential cargo, such as fuel and food items, so that their “security” while transiting the Strait of Hormuz can be secured and a transit schedule can be designed after “obtaining a permit.”

Concurrently, a reporter for the Islamic Republic’s state broadcaster, IRIB, reported that satellite imagery following the attacks of the past 48 hours shows that the US fleet, which intended to enter the Persian Gulf, has dispersed - an action that, according to this reporter, took place as a result of the operations by the Islamic Republic’s Army Navy.
