The foreign ministers of Ukraine and Slovakia, Andrii Sybiha and Juraj Blanár, discussed deepening cooperation in the defense industry.

Sybiha announced this at a press conference following his talks with Blanár in Vinnytsia, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“We discussed prospects for deepening cooperation in the defense industry: Ukraine is open to joint defense projects with partners, particularly within the framework of the SAFE instrument. We are ready for such cooperation with Slovakia, as strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities simultaneously enhances Europe’s security,” Sybiha said.

According to him, Ukraine appreciates Slovakia’s support for all 20 EU sanctions packages against Russia.

“Sanctions are a tool to compel Russia to make peace. However, pressure must be intensified in sectors critical to the Russian Federation’s budget. We count on further cooperation in this area,” the minister noted.
