Iran made the accusation during a special meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), urging the international community to adopt a “zero-tolerance policy” against attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities.

Iran has accused the United States and Israel of committing war crimes over what it described as 17 waves of attacks on its safeguarded nuclear facilities between 2025 and 2026, while Israeli military operations reportedly continue across Lebanon despite a recently announced ceasefire.

Iran made the accusation during a special meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), urging the international community to adopt a “zero-tolerance policy” against attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities.

In a statement presented to the meeting, Iran’s delegation alleged that one of the most serious attacks targeted a structure located approximately 350 metres from the reactor at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, a facility containing thousands of kilograms of nuclear material.

Iran noted that the IAEA Director General had previously warned that a direct strike on the Bushehr plant could trigger a “very high release of radioactivity to the environment.”
