Nigeria looks set to follow in Ghana's footsteps by repatriating its citizens from SA
Nigeria to repatriate more than 1,000 nationals from South Africa.
Ghana has already announced its repatriation plans after more than 1,500 applications from Ghanaian nationals living in SA.
Meanwhile, the Mozambican government claimed that five nationals were killed in 'xenophobic attacks' in SA. Around 800 Mozambican nationals were caught up in the violence that broke out in the southern coastal city of Mossel Bay on Friday, the government press office said.
The Border Management Authority (BMA) says it successfully processed the departure of 933 Mozambican nationals from South Africa to Mozambique through the Lebombo Port of Entry on 3 June 2026.
