TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that state revenue reached Rp1,185 trillion as of May 31, 2026, marking a 19.1 percent year-on-year increase. During the same period, state expenditure reached Rp1,365.4 trillion, a 34.4 percent increase compared to the previous year."Compare it to last year, in the same month, tax was negative by 11.3 percent, excise was positive, and non-tax state revenue (PNBP) was negative by 33.2 percent. So, there is a significant improvement in taxes, especially compared to the conditions last year," said Purbaya in a press conference on the KiTA APBN (State Budget) at his office in Central Jakarta on Friday, June 5, 2026.Purbaya explained that the state revenue of Rp1,185 trillion consisted of tax revenue of Rp834.4 trillion, which grew 22.1 percent, customs and excise revenue of Rp123.8 trillion, which increased by 0.7 percent, and non-tax state revenue (PNBP) of Rp226.4 trillion, which increased by 19.9 percent.He says that tax revenue performance shows improvement compared to last year, which saw negative growth throughout the year. The government aims to maintain this positive trend alongside its efforts to improve the tax system.As of the end of May, state expenditure reached Rp1,365.4 trillion. The figure consisted of central government expenditure of Rp1,059.3 trillion and transfers to regions of Rp306.1 trillion.Purbaya stated that the growth of state expenditures remains consistent with the government's goal of accelerating budget implementation to support economic activities.He also ensured that the fiscal condition remains stable.
