Mumbai Civil Court rejects plea to stay OTT release of Dhurandhar The Revenge On Thursday, director Aditya Dhar received a legal relief after a Mumbai civil court refused to stay the OTT release of Dhurandhar The Revenge amid allegations that the film was based on a copied script. Writer Santosh Kumar RS had approached the court in March, seeking an ad-interim injunction against the film’s digital release, claiming that Dhar had used elements from his original script. However, the court rejected the plea, allowing the film’s digital roll out to proceed as scheduled (June 5). The film was released in theatres on March 19.Dhurandhar: The RevengeDhar’s legal team represented by, advocates Parag Khandhar and Chandrima Mitra tell us, “Santosh Kumar’s plea for ad interim stay on the OTT release of Dhurandhar 2 was primarily rejected because Kumar was not able show similarity between script and dialogues of his script called D-Saheb and Dhurandhar The Revenge.” Dhurandhar was released in theatres on December 5, 2025, and Dhurandhar 2 on March 19 this year. Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera, and Danish Pandor star in the two films. The first film collected ₹1307 crore worldwide, while the sequel has grossed over ₹1790 crore.The films tell the story of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, alias Hamza Ali Mazari, sent to Lyari in Pakistan to bring down a terror unit. He infiltrates a Baloch gang, marries the daughter of a Lyari politician and integrates into the society there to do this.
