A Sudanese student pursuing higher studies at a private university in Hyderabad has been shifted to an isolation facility at Gandhi Hospital after exhibiting symptoms suggestive of Ebola on his arrival at Hyderabad International airport.The individual was flagged during thermal screening at the airport and found to have a body temperature of 100°F. In view of his travel history from a high-risk country, he was referred to the designated nodal centre for observation and testing, according to official sources.A close contact of the student has also been isolated at Gandhi Hospital for screening. Doctors said the student is currently under observation in the isolation ward pending test results.This is the second case involving a Sudanese national being isolated in Hyderabad over suspected Ebola symptoms.Published on June 5, 2026
