Actor Emraan Hashmi has wrapped shooting for his upcoming romantic-thriller, Awarapan 2, the makers announced on Thursday (June 5, 2026). Written by Bilal Siddiqui and directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film also stars Disha Patani.The production banner, Vishesh Films, shared a photo with Emraan with the film’s slate to make the announcement. “OGs know this isn’t just a wrap. He came back for you. In cinemas August 14,” they wrote in caption.As per a press release, the film has been shot across Rajasthan and South East Asia. Emraan reprises his role of Shivam from the 2007 original directed by Mohit Suri.Produced by Vishesh Bhatt, Awarapan 2 will be released in theatres on August 14. The film was announced on occasion of Emraan’s 46th birthday last year. The 2007 original features Emraan playing a hitman, who is asked to keep an eye on his boss’ mistress. However, he plans to reunite her with her lover after finding that she is a victim of sex trafficking.Emraan was last seen in the crime-thriller, Taskaree, which was released on Netflix in January this year.
