June 4 (UPI) -- Seth Jarvis uncaged a white-hot one-timer, sending the puck past Carter Hart's stick side and leading the Carolina Hurricanes to a comeback, 4-3 overtime win against the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday in Raleigh, N.C.

The Hurricanes trailed 2-0 through two periods, despite holding a shot advantage. They finally broke through with three goals in the third frame and then Jarvis' heroic effort 3:56 into overtime to avoid an 0-2 deficit in the best-of-seven game title series, which is now tied.

"Just making the right plays -- playing smart and being aggressive and it worked out," Jarvis said on the ABC broadcast.

The Hurricanes nearly mirrored the Game 1 effort of their visitors, who trailed 2-0 before storming back to steal the series opener Tuesday in Raleigh. The Golden Knights temporarily spoiled Carolina's comeback effort in Game 2 when forward Mark Stone found the net with 1:21 remaining in regulation. But Jarvis had the final word with his power-play score.

"It was a lot," Jarvis said of the momentum swings. "We did a great job of controlling our emotions. We never got too high, never got to low. We just kept responding. That's what I love about this group is that we always bounce back."
