Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner, in the Maine Senate race, is facing fresh allegations from two of his ex-girlfriends who spoke on the record to The New York Times. Fifield told the newspaper that Platner had referred to the tattoo as “my Totenkopf” years earlier.She also alleged that during their relationship, Platner sometimes became physically rough, particularly when he consumed alcohol. She, however, emphasized that he never struck or punched her, but she said he grasped her shoulders firmly enough to leave wounds. He apparently pulled her from a cab by her wrist, and on another occasion, twisted her arm behind her back and confined her to a room following an argument.“It hurt,” Fifield told the newspaper. She added, “It didn't cause an injury, it didn't break my arm.”The report also detailed allegations regarding comments Platner allegedly made about dominance and violence. "He [Platner] said this a lot: If anybody ever broke in here, I would rape them," but not in “a sexual way, not in a gay way,” Fifield told the outlet.“He was like, I would rape them to show them that I'm dominant,” she said. This person does not respect women.”Racicot also alleged that Platner arrived at her home intoxicated in 2021 after she had asked him not to visit. While she declined to provide extensive details, she described the incident as “reckless” and “unsettling” and said she ended contact with him shortly afterwards.
