June 4 (UPI) -- An earthquake measuring 4.1 magnitude was recorded by scientists just west of Las Vegas on Thursday afternoon, with no reports of damage thus far.
The temblor was felt throughout the Las Vegas Valley at 1:47 p.m. local time about 14 miles west of the city in Summerlin, Nev., the United States Geological Survey reported.
The earthquake was recorded by roughly 30 different stations, including the University of Nevada-Reno's Seismological Laboratory, KTNV-Las Vegas reported.
USGS reported on its ShakeMap that most of the quake's effects were felt east of the epicenter toward Las Vegas, although the estimates suggest that those effects were between weak and light, if at all.
