President Donald Trump is floating a redesign of the land around the Lincoln Memorial, his latest effort to transform the nation’s capital in his image.

Trump told reporters at the White House on Thursday he wants to build a promenade that would allow pedestrians to easily walk from the rear of the monument to the east bank of the Potomac River.
