Oura’s Hollywood-loved wearable wellness device just got a whole lot sleeker — 40 percent, to be exact. The Oura Ring 5, available online starting June 4, is officially the world’s smallest smart ring: 40 percent thinner, lighter and smaller than its predecessor, the Oura Ring 4.
But don’t be mistaken: While the new model is almost half the size of the previous, it has a longer battery life (six to nine days vs. five to eight) and more precise sensors for greater accuracy when tracking its 50-plus health metrics, including heart rate, sleep, stress, fitness and women’s health data. And while the Oura Ring 4 is water resistant, the Oura Ring 5 is waterproof.
Oura Ring 5 One-year protection plan included with purchase.
Back to aesthetics, Oura’s latest offering comes in six finishes: silver ($399), a redesigned gold finish ($499), a new deep rose finish ($499), black ($399), brushed silver ($499) and a matte black colorway called Stealth ($499). Each ring comes with a size-specific charger and cable included, but users can also grab an on-the-go Charging Case for $99. The compact device has up to five charges, ideal for avid travelers.
