The government has approved the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Incentive Scheme Policy-2026 to help boost investment from Bangladeshi citizens, including expatriates.
A cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat took the decision on Thursday night, according to a media statement.
The government formulated the policy to contribute to bringing more FDI from all Bangladeshi citizens, including expatriates, through incentives, the statement adds.
The Cabinet Division also approved the draft of the Bangladesh Medical University (Amendment) Act-2026, paving the way for the formation of profit-based or non-profit companies or organisations to expand the scope of medical services and research at the university.
