Amazon brought its Amazon Haul shopping platform to the UK in May last year. Convenience and speedy shipping are typically the main draw with Amazon. With Amazon Haul, however, the focus has shifted – here, it’s about finding products for ultra-low prices (sometimes as cheap as £1). Amazon says that everything listed on Amazon Haul will set you back less than £20. Most of the time, prices are even lower than this, with many Haul products being under £10. But how else is Amazon Haul different to Amazon’s main storefront? Amazon Haul lives within Amazon and the Amazon shopping app, and it lists a huge range of fashion, home, electronics, lifestyle products and more at very low prices. These budget-friendly prices are because everything is sourced directly from the manufacturer. While the products available through Amazon Haul are mostly unbranded or white label, it’s also possible to spot big-name brands such as Beauty of Joseon, Beauty Pie, Kitchenaid and Salter. What’s worth noting is that some of the same products found on Amazon Haul can also be spotted within Amazon’s regular storefront. Occasionally, the price of a product will be the same or very similar on Amazon Haul to the generic Amazon storefront, although the idea is that Amazon Haul is cheaper. Shoppers can look at the ‘crazy low’ section for particularly cheap prices. In terms of what you can buy on Amazon Haul, jewellery and accessories, tech, cleaning and kitchen essentials, beauty products and more are listed on the site. For instance, you can snap up a pair of women’s slides that currently cost less than £3 (Amazon.co.uk), or you may be interested in a pack of 15 washing-up sponges for £1 (Amazon.co.uk). It's also possible to find discounts on larger orders. Do you pay extra for Amazon Haul? No, you don’t need a specific subscription or to pay extra fees to use Amazon Haul. With that being said, there’s a flat £2.99 delivery fee on orders of less than £15 (more than £15 and delivery is free). It’s worth bearing in mind that the benefit of free shipping that comes with Amazon Prime doesn’t apply when using Amazon Haul, even if you have an Amazon Prime subscription. What's the difference between Amazon Prime and Amazon Haul?Beyond prices, the main difference is speed. Amazon Haul products are shipped directly from the manufacturer which is usually based in China, meaning shipping can take a lot longer than it does when shopping from Amazon’s main storefront. With Amazon you can usually get same-day delivery or delivery takes up to five days, while with Amazon Haul you can expect to wait between one to two weeks for your purchased products to arrive. The return policy is also different. Amazon’s 30-day returns policy doesn't apply to Amazon Haul. While returns are still free with Amazon Haul, you’ll need to request a return quickly, within 15 days. If you request the return after this point, you won’t be able to return the item. Are the items in Amazon haul used? No, Amazon Haul products are brand new. Is it safe to buy from Amazon Haul? From a security point of view, the same protection applies as when buying through Amazon’s main storefront. Meanwhile, Amazon says that all Amazon Haul products undergo relevant checks and are safe and compliant with Amazon policies and regulations. However, it’s worth noting that Amazon Haul products are all delivered directly from third-party sellers. But Amazon’s A-to-z guarantee applies to Amazon Haul purchases, which means you’re covered if a product is damaged, defective or not as described, for example.
