The House of Representatives has called on security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue worshippers abducted during a religious gathering in Ekiti State and directed relevant government agencies to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to victims of renewed communal violence in Taraba State.

The resolutions were adopted during plenary on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, following the consideration of two Matters of Urgent Public Importance focused on security and humanitarian challenges in the affected states.

The House said its interventions reflected its commitment to addressing issues affecting the safety, welfare, and well-being of Nigerians through legislative action.

The victims were abducted on April 28, 2026, when suspected bandits attacked Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) during a service in the community.
