Beloved French Iranian graphic author, activist, and director Marjane Satrapi has died at the age of 56, the Élysée Palace confirmed on Thursday. Satrapi was best known for the graphic-novel-memoir Persepolis, which documented the upheaval of the Iranian Revolution through the eyes of a bold, irreverent young girl living through it.
