OTTAWA—The Carney Liberals will release their long-awaited national AI strategy on Thursday, a sweeping $2.3-billion plan to foster economic opportunity, trust and Canadian control of artificial intelligence, but one that offers few specifics on how the rapidly evolving technology will be kept in check.
“Trust makes adoption possible,” reads the strategy, which will be officially unveiled in Toronto. “Opportunity and sovereignty ensure adoption creates benefits for Canadians now and in the future.”
