An inter-State burglar involved in a house burglary case in Secunderabad was traced to North Goa by the Market police. The officials recovered the entire stolen property, including gold and silver ornaments valued at approximately ₹82 lakh.The accused was identified as 28-year-old Manoj Singh, a resident of Bhagat Colony at Burari in New Delhi.The case came to light on May 27, 2026, when a complaint was lodged by Sandeep Raghunath Chawan, an employee of a bullion jewellery shop in Secunderabad, after discovering that the lock of his residence had been broken and valuables stolen. On inspection, gold ornaments and fine gold were found missing from a wooden box in the house.Following the complaint, a case was registered and a special investigation team was formed. During the probe, police identified that around 576 grams of gold ornaments and fine gold, along with nearly 900 grams of silver, had been stolen.Based on technical and field inputs, the police team travelled to Goa and traced the suspect on June 1, 2026 at North Goa in Calangute police station limits. The entire stolen property was recovered from his possession.Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused is a habitual inter-State burglar involved in 19 cases of house theft in Delhi and is also wanted in several cases with non-bailable warrants pending against him. He had earlier been lodged in Tihar Jail in connection with multiple criminal cases, police added. Further legal action is being coordinated with Delhi Police. Published - June 04, 2026 06:57 pm IST
