President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on the U.S. House of Representatives after lawmakers passed a rare bipartisan measure aimed at limiting his military authority, accusing them of undermining ongoing efforts to secure peace with Iran.

In a late-night post on his Truth Social platform, Trump dismissed the legislative action as "meaningless" and criticised the lawmakers who crossed party lines to support it, arguing that their actions could jeopardise sensitive diplomatic negotiations.

"Yesterday, in a meaningless vote, the House voted, 4 bad Republicans and all of the Dumocrats, to limit my War Powers, right in the middle of my final negotiations to end the War with the Islamic Republic of Iran," the President wrote. "Who would do such an unpatriotic thing?"

Trump went on to claim that opposition lawmakers are fully aware of sensitive diplomatic progress but are blinded by partisanship.
