Billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepe's company African Rainbow Minerals has won another case of trademark infringement against a Johannesburg firm.
Billionaire businessman Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) has managed to halt the use of one of his companies’ names, Anglovaal, after the Companies Tribunal ruled in his favour.
The offending company is Constantia Kloof Extension 28, Johannesburg-based Mzanzi Anglovaal Group with ARM saying it could not serve its application to force it to change its name, despite several attempts.
ARM was established in 2003 through the merger of Motsepe’s ARMGold, Anglovaal and Harmony Gold.
Anglovaal was founded nearly a century ago by the Menell and Hersov families, which counted among the richest in the country.
