Ovie Omo-Agege, governorship candidate of the Delta State's All Progressives Congress (APC)

…as NDC reveals Chris Iyovwave as winner of guber primary in Delta

Ovie Omo-Agege, former Deputy Senate President of Nigeria and Governorship Candidate of the APC in the 2023 general elections, has hit back at Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, saying reason the governor dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in April last year to the APC was to avoid defeat in a direct contest with him in the 2027 Governorship in the state.

Omo-Agege, who recently defected from the APC to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) where he had won the ticket to contest for the Delta Senatorial District seat in 2027 after losing to Ede Dafinone in the APC Delta Central Senatorial District Primaries which the senator claimed was rigged against him.

Responding to Oborevwori’s claim in a television programme that he (Omo-Agege) is no threat in Delta politics, the former deputy speaker said he had nurtured APC into a formidable party that actually won the 2023 Gubernatorial election in the State.
