MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Loren Legarda insisted on Thursday that she remains the Senate president pro tempore and has not yet resigned from the post.

Her clarification came a day after she was removed and replaced by Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, who was installed during Wednesday’s session attended by 12 senators.

Appearing at a Senate hearing, Legarda said she attended the proceeding as Senate president pro tempore and as a member of the 24-member chamber.
