NEW YORK — The New York Yankees are still awaiting word on whether Aaron Judge will require a stint on the injured list while he deals with a bone bruise on his upper right rib that has forced him to miss two games.Manager Aaron Boone told reporters after the Yankees’ 5-4 loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday that Judge requires more imaging after undergoing tests earlier in the afternoon.“The specialist got back to us, confirmed what we’ve seen to this point,” Boone said. “They just want to get some more specific spots.”Boone said the additional tests are “more high-power, more specific,” allowing the specialist to view the rib and chest area from different angles. When specifically asked whether a fracture has been ruled out by the initial testing, Boone could not give a direct answer.“I don’t want to speak out of turn. I don’t know that yet,” Boone said. “It’s to a point where he’s not playing. We just want to make sure that we get a really strong diagnosis of things, and hopefully then we can roll.”Boone said earlier this week that Judge had been nursing the injury for weeks, but his condition had worsened over the weekend in the series against the Athletics in Sacramento and had probably been affecting him at the plate for a while. Since May 17, Judge has hit .163 with one home run and eight RBIs over 13 games.
