AMMAN: Senior Jordanian and Kuwaiti officials held talks on Wednesday aimed at strengthening security and military cooperation between the two countries.
Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Faraya met Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah in Amman, where the two sides discussed enhancing security coordination and expanding joint training programs.
Faraya praised the level of cooperation between Jordan and Kuwait on security matters and stressed the importance of continued consultation between the two countries' interior ministries and security agencies on issues of mutual interest, according to Jordan News Agency.
Sheikh Fahad reaffirmed Kuwait's commitment to deepening security ties and increasing the exchange of expertise, describing the relationship between the two countries as strong and longstanding, JNA added.
In separate talks, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hunaiti received Kuwaiti Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Khaled Daraj Shuraiaan to discuss ways to enhance military and defense cooperation.
