Domestic airline, FlySafair, announced a reduction in its fuel surcharge introduced in March.
South African domestic travellers are in for a welcome surprise as low-cost airline FlySafair has significantly slashed its dynamic fuel surcharge.
The airline confirmed that the current surcharge is now 40% lower than the peak level reached in late March 2026, bringing savings to passengers despite scheduled fuel price increases in South Africa on June 3.
According to FlySafair, the reduction reflects improving conditions in the global jet fuel market and forms part of the airline’s commitment to transparent pricing.
FlySafair introduced the dynamic fuel surcharge in March following conflict in the Middle East, which disrupted global oil supply routes and drove jet fuel prices sharply higher.
