Former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has said it is "very unlikely" that northern voters, particularly those in the Muslim North, would support the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi in the 2027 election.
Baba-Ahmed, who was Peter Obi's running mate in the 2023 presidential election, made the remarks during a recent interview on the Symfoni Podcast, which was monitored by SaharaReporters.
The former lawmaker also reiterated his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, blaming it for worsening insecurity in the country and insisting that Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima did not win the 2023 presidential election.
Asked to identify the biggest failure of the current administration, Baba-Ahmed gave a one-word response.
