MANILA, Philippines — Senate president pro tempore Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian announced that no official business will be held at the Senate on Thursday, June 4, with Senate staff authorized to work from home “to preserve the neutrality of the Senate bureaucracy.”

Gatchalian made the announcement through a Senate advisory, despite an earlier memorandum from Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, who continues to assert his position as Senate president, stating that all hearings will continue as scheduled on Thursday (June 4)—including the blue ribbon committee hearing.

“The Committee chairmanships and memberships having been declared vacant, and to give way to the organization of committees under the new chairpersons, no official business has been scheduled tomorrow, June 4, 2026,” the advisory signed by Gatchalian read.
