Here we go again. Almost 11 months after IMAX surprisingly sold select tickets to Christopher Nolan’s new film, The Odyssey, more tickets are going on sale this week. According to posts on social media, the “largest screens” will go on sale at noon EST on Thursday, June 4. Largest Screens On Sale Tomorrow at 9am PT / 12pm ET. Experience The Odyssey shot entirely with IMAX film cameras in theaters 07.17.26. pic.twitter.com/9c7Bqxxi95 — The Odyssey Movie (@odysseymovie) June 3, 2026 Considering Nolan’s film is the first feature ever to be entirely shot in the IMAX format, we assume “largest screens” means tickets for IMAX screens are going on sale. Plus, a special 70mm presentation in Los Angeles is going on sale tomorrow, too. So, we think at the very least, most premium formats will be on sale at that time, with general tickets going on sale if not simultaneously, then soon after. io9 has reached out to Universal Pictures for clarification and will update this post if and when we hear back. In 2025, exactly one year before The Odyssey was set to open, IMAX pulled a little stunt in which it sold tickets to a select number of screenings in 70mm IMAX locations. These are the only locations that will show Nolan’s film in its biggest, truest format. Showtimes sold out instantly and left many, many fans angry and anxious. However, that was just a single showtime a day over opening weekend. Showtimes before and after were not made available because Nolan hadn’t finished the movie yet. Now, those will go on sale.
