Guwahati: Congress has said that Arunachal CM Pema Khandu not yet stepping down from his post despite allegations of corruption is an insult to the Supreme Court, to the people of the state, and to the Constitution of India.SC had in April ordered a preliminary CBI inquiry into charges that public work contracts worth about ₹1,270 crore were awarded between 2015 and 2025 to firms allegedly linked to members of Khandu's family.Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh posted in X, "BJP has clearly decided to brazen it out in Arunachal Pradesh... This is an insult to the Supreme Court, to the people of Arunachal Pradesh, and to the Constitution of India." The state BJP leadership defended Khandu and said the party stood by him and there was no question of a leadership change.
