SOKOTO — The Sokoto State Police Command has foiled a bandit attack in Tureta Local Government Area and recovered 25 rustled cattle during a joint security operation.
The operation, carried out by operatives of the Violence Crime Response Unit (VCRU) and Anti-Kidnapping Unit in collaboration with other security agencies, followed a distress call reporting an attack on Imasa Matankari village, a community bordering Zamfara State.
According to the Command, heavily armed bandits invaded the village on June 2, firing sporadically before making away with 25 cows belonging to residents.
