Residence of A. R. Dairy managing director where enforcement directorate officials conducted a raid at Pillayarnatham near Dindigul on Wednesday

Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Wednesday conducted searches at A.R. Dairy Food and the residence of its Managing Director Raju Rajasekaran in Dindigul. The searches were conducted in connection with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) adulterated ghee case.The ED sleuths conducted searches for over 10 hours. The searches began at around 8 a.m. on the premises of the A.R. Dairy Foods which supplied ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and the residence of Mr. Rajasekaran. The ED conducted searches at a total of 15 locations across India.In a press release, The ED said it initiated investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act based on an FIR registered against A.R. Dairy Food and others. It was alleged that the accused persons, in conspiracy with certain TTD officials, committed criminal breach of trust, cheating, and caused wrongful loss to TTD by supplying adulterated ghee.The press release added investigation conducted so far revealed that the proceeds of crime generated through the supply of adulterated ghee to TTD were subsequently invested in immovable properties through a complex web of interconnected legal entities and business concerns to conceal the illicit origin of funds.Further investigation is under way.
