District Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar on Wednesday inspected a series of development works currently under way in Cuddalore Corporation limits.The Collector inspected the laying of pipelines for supply of drinking water in Cuddalore Corporation. The work is being executed in 18 wards of the Corporation in the first phase under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 scheme at an estimated cost of ₹28.67 crore. Residents and commercial properties and other areas falling under these wards would get round-the-clock drinking water supply. He directed the officials to expedite the pipeline laying works and to repair the roads immediately.Mr. Kumar also inspected the construction of Anna market in Manjakuppam costing ₹5.03 crore and the upgradation of the Subburayulu Park at an estimate of ₹96 lakh. Subsequently, at Pachayankuppam, the Collector inspected the ongoing construction of Animal Birth Control (ABC) centre costing ₹65 lakh.He urged the officials to expedite the works in a time-bound manner simultaneously ensuring quality.
