During proceedings, counsel to the ADC, Shaibu Aruwa (SAN), informed the court that the applications filed by the interested parties had already been considered by the former trial judge, Justice Emeka Nwite, at an earlier sitting.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned to June 8, 2026, the hearing of a suit filed by Nafiu Bala Gombe challenging the leadership structure of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by former Senate President David Mark.

The case was adjourned by Justice Peter Lifu after counsel to the plaintiff, Robert Emukpoeruo (SAN), requested more time, citing the absence of lawyers representing parties seeking to be joined in the suit.

During proceedings, counsel to the ADC, Shaibu Aruwa (SAN), informed the court that the applications filed by the interested parties had already been considered by the former trial judge, Justice Emeka Nwite, at an earlier sitting.

Aruwa urged the court to allow the parties seeking joinder an opportunity to present their arguments, stressing that doing so would serve the interest of fairness and justice.
